I'm at it.....
No originals from any Petty Plymouth at all, but you use what you got right?

I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THIS ONE FINISHED SO ...GET TA BUILDIN'!! PEACE

Those read cantilevers are killer!!!!
Nice panel work too.
This is going to be a fun one!

O.K. this will be one of the last posts (by me) in this section, I'm about to finish this build.
some before-final pic's;

Since the original set up of this frame was with only a rear derailler,
there where no cabel guides for a front derailler i solved that like this;

As you could have seen in previous posts I will mount the shifters on the top tube, when mounted on the down tube the cables would run down. I will mount them on the top tube back to front so the cables will run forward and then down.

Then I still have to run all the cables 2 X break & 2 X shifter for that I'm gonna use this outer cable;

Here is the bike as it is now;

I guess my next post wil be in the finished section.

nice build i like the colors alot... and those Detroit stickers where did you find them i want some..lol nice build cant wait to see all done up and rolling

Last night I was just eyeballin the bike and I really started to dislike the way the handlebars and the seat looked.
A Nascar themed build should at least look fast!!
So this morning, after a final spray of some other parts, I tried to use a sportsbike type stem but it didn't fit the bars.
Then I remembered those 2 stems I once bouhgt to use as sort off clip-ons.
fitting them to the fork would mean that they would come in contact with the tank when in possition.
So I went out and bought 2 Ahead adapters at the local mtb/racebike specialist.

So now the handlebars look like this;

I swapped the seatpost with the one on my daily ride and now the bike looks like this (way faster!!!);

I'm so glad you did! I look at everyone's bike as their vision and their creation, so as long as it looks safe, if I don't like the way something looks I keep my mouth shut, but now that you changed it, the bars on that stem in the previous picture looked goofy and not "race car" at all.

What you've done here is PERFECT! Now, let me step out of my rules, I'd love to see the front tire sit a little tighter up into that fork, lowering the front a little. I was able to do this on my build-off bike, but I had a different triple tree and had to make my own fork legs.

Looks awesome now!

Thanks, we share our thoughts on the bike, the lower crownplate is welded to the fork so no luck there.
If I will hang on to this bike in the future I might change the fork for a higher quality.

Thanks, Nice shoes man!! I think I would rather invest the money they cost in some bicycle.
But they would go nice with my dusty Stetson and imitation Rayban.......... :D
