Don't think I'd have noticed that bike was 20 inch....that's pretty dang cool!!

Like what you got going on with this one. Kind of liked the middle bars but low ones look cool too.

The tall bikes look like too much fun!

Not as hard as I thought it would be getting on and off hopefully no one pulls out in front of you.

It doesn’t happen often but it happens, I just step down, but having your head above all cars and trucks, you see everything coming.

Well, it’s been raining all week and I couldn’t really take the bike out the shop, so I did some cleaning up and figured I’d do this mini build part for an upcoming build. I’ll let the photos tell the story.

Wow! that is some awesome "CLEAR" enamel!!! It's incredible how well it worked!!!!

Very cool idea! I've considered Lexan wheels before but never a 'floating' chainring!:cool2:

Thanks. I actually woke up from a nap after school a couple days ago thinking of this idea. It’s probably been done before but I wanted to make it easily done by anyone. I started with a multi piece chainwheel but thought it would be better to go full custom.

How strong do you think that will be?
if its Lexan/(bullet proof glass and helmet visor stuff) it should hold .. if its plexiglass it wont

looks Awesome !!

This is classic yoothgeye building, I build something during the build-off (in this case a part) that people really like and it gets lots of attention, and then I don't even use it. haha

I would have been building lately, but can't get a break from this rain except the time I've been spending helping a friend move.

Maybe we should have a "Parts Build Off" :D

I hear what you're saying it's been raining here for almost 2 weeks now seems like when I get ready to work on the bike here comes the rain

Anything new since the invisible chainring?

Anything new since the invisible chainring?

Had to finish off the school year, getting settled into having the summer off (with no pay, so there’s that) new routines with the kids, honey-do list, and my best friend moved here from Maryland and I’ve been helping him with new house stuff.

That being said, we did some work today, update next.

My son and I got out in the heat this morning and did some work, instead of taking bicycle and kick scooter rides like the last couple days we worked some on the bike.

My son was bummed that it was time to take the bike apart again, he doesn’t really understand mock-ups.

After tear down I started stripping the forks and my son got started on separating the rusted together saddle and sissy.

My son got distracted by the thing in the background and while he was riding up and the alley I tore the banana seat apart, which was harder than I expected. Hopefully soon I will show you what I’m recovering it with.

Then before having to take the kids to their swim meet I sanded down the frame some, and was super surprised that after being painted over, stripped, sanded, and burned that you could still see where the original Schwinn decal was on the seat tube.
