‘79 Schwinn Spitfire

    A lil bit back I scored a ‘79 Schwinn Spitfire from the original owner. He bought it new when he was 12 in ‘79. He made a few upgrades, like Ukai rims custom built with 12g spokes laced to a bendix rear, and chair front hub, and a Tange fork.
    In the 90s he decided to overhaul his childhood bike. It was powder coated a candy blue from its original red, and repop parts from the time were added.

    I changed out a few bits to make it my own/more era appropriate-

    Spec-
    ‘79 Schwinn Spitfire frame, Tange forks, Ukai wheelset (as mentioned), takagi chromo cranks, sugino bmx spider, pro neck chainring, ht pedals, sram chain, Schwinn script seatpost (repop), Brooks b72, Schwinn S bolt seatclamp, Tange headset, Suntour stem, Santa Barbara cruisers solid aluminum bars, tracker grips, schwalbe tires.
