    BO15 Star Chaser

26" fat rim laced to a fat coaster hub. Surly tyre. Vintage Italian stationary bike with flywheel. Cycle Speedway handlebar. Front end off a kids trike. Hubs rebuilt with skinny 20" x 1 3/8 rims. So the question is, how do I incorporate the workings of the stationary bike? I imagine a wheelie...

    BO15 Star Chaser

Right. I've been here for 14 years and - to my shame - have never yet entered a Build Off. A couple of years ago I started assembling a bunch of parts to build a trike which had appeared to me in a dream. But then I missed the boat on that year's build and now here we are. So the trike is...

What is the best coaster brake, your opinions?

    Worse how?

    Carlton Cobra build

It's one of Brick Lane Bikes own stems. On sale it cost me £3 - about $5.

What is the best coaster brake, your opinions?

SRAM Automatix. Two speed auto. Shifts up at a certain road speed so it required a bit of experimentation with sprockets to find the sweet spot. No longer made unfortunately, I managed to find one in stock at a German online store. It stops well, doesn't fade. But it weighs a ton.

    Carlton Cobra build

Nearer to completion: Kashimax seat, alu seat post, de-stickered rims, less Schwinn grips and re-angled the bottle opener so it doesn't spill my cider!

    Carlton Cobra build

So my stepson owed me £90 for like the last eight months, so I levered this 1970s Carlton Cobra frame from him by way of paying off his debt. Wheels from ebay (£30) All the other parts were knocking around in the garage. It's a mash-up of Cycle Speedway bikes and British 'Tracker' bikes...

It was very easy, if you're confident using a tape measure, a drill and a hacksaw.. My rear wheel us very slightly lower on one side, but I'll remedy that with a file next time I have the wheel out.

Two speed auto. 650c front wheel. Rob (Gonzo) English is making me a custom bar. Next is a Monark springer (with longer rockers). Check the rough hewn rear facing drop-out which drop it 7/8 and lengthen it an inch.

Very very cool. I hope you're gonna make it puff smoke out of the tail pipes with every pedal stroke. :-)

    Touring hack

Our touring hacks. Daughter #1 (21yo) wants to go touring solo in Scotland, her mother insists that she needs some practice accompanied before she's allowed off on her own. So I built the above as cheap as possible to get on the road with her. Aiming to get rolling for a few days in the...

    Yeah, that's the one.

    Is this a CCM Mustang??

I just bought this for my boy as his first project. It was sold as a CCM Mustang, and it does indeed have frame stickers that read: 'Mustang', but I can't find anything on the web that shares this same frame design. I'll be very grateful for any help. Cheers, Mick

Now with vintage MotoX bars. I'm not convinced about the look of forks, but it rides really nice on the riverside trail that is my route to work.
