    Block Chain or 1" Skiptooth

yeah. Or the guy protected it because he knows it’s value. In the last minute it went from $127-$227. I was about to bid $135. Oh well ‍♂️

Any TOC experts on here? Need some bottom bracket help.

My late 1890’s Victor has a really weird sized BB shell. It’s 44mm OD x 40mm ID x 70mm wide making standard 51mm bottom brackets bot an option. Any help with what type, brand, manufacture of bottom bracket i should be searching for? Currently has a 1900s Eagle crankset that is so nice but the...

How to treat or remove RUST

Unfortunately I had already sanded the rust off before seeing this. Since the wheels, crank and chainring aren’t original, I’ll probably end up getting this blasted and painted in the spring.

How to treat or remove RUST

I tried this today but the rust spot I had was just too big and thick. I opted for using soppy water and 600 grit belt sander paper by hand. Removed the rust down to bare metal. It’s pitted but looks fine after BLO.

    1890's Overman Victor Flyer

Thanks! Will check them out. I’m guessing the repaint was done in the 60s or 70s. After taking it off, I found a few small spots of what looks like pin striping and decorative work. Looks like it was a cream color. Also realize this originally had an oil lamp on the front and “coasting pegs”...

How to treat or remove RUST

Cool. Thank you! I'm not in it for perfection, just to get off the chunky rust and keep it from continuing. This frame has like 10 dents, so she aint pretty anyway : )

    1890's Overman Victor Flyer

I was surprised at how easy it was. I'll share some pics once I finish. Gotta figure out how to remove this crank first. Ha

    Block Chain or 1" Skiptooth

Just picked up a bike that has a crainkset from a very early 1900's Eagle. Hoping someone on here has a Block Chain or a 1" skiptooth that they are willing to sell. Thanks!

How to treat or remove RUST

Hey everyone, Looking for some advice on my TOC restoration. It's been repainted, so I'm carefully stripping down to the original paint with denatured and 0000 steel wool. Only problem is the original black paint has some bigger spots where it's showing bare metal and rust. Non drive side...

    1890's Overman Victor Flyer

So my test with denatured and 0000 steel wool tuned into me removing most of the repainted red. In most places, it came off really easily. Some spots needing a bit more time gently rubbing with the steel wool. Hardest parts are the corners and nooks. Only downfall is that some of the red...

    1890's Overman Victor Flyer

I was told denatured and 0000 steel wool should do the trick to remove the red paint Going to spot test now.

    1890's Overman Victor Flyer

Also, the brake lever is some Rat Rod special that a farmer made from plumbing parts. Found something that will work better and look closer to the original on eBay.

    1890's Overman Victor Flyer

I finally got my Victor last night! Still trying to identify the year and confirm if this is a "Flyer". From what I can tell from research, this is a mid 1890's bike with crank assembly from an early 1900's Eagle. The Spoon brake, bar, stem and seat are original and I believe wheels are as well...

    1896 Overman Victor Flyer

And I assume the value goes up slightly each year as these bikes get older? Im sure bicycle trends as well as antique values fluctuate as well. Cool to know the value, but at the end of the day, I'm in it to ride it and own an amazing piece of history as opposed to flipping for some quick bucks...

    1896 Overman Victor Flyer

Thanks! So seems I'll just need to do some measuring to confirm gap between is 1" and the overall length. A prewar 1" skiptooth should work, but a block chain may have been the period correct chain?

    1896 Overman Victor Flyer

This one sold for $600 but has a listed value of $800-$1200

    1896 Overman Victor Flyer

Thats a beauty! And the idea of renting for TV/movie production is great. I'm not in it to buy this and just flip it. I'm all about owning it and riding it.... unles of course I found out its worth $15K after being restored... then I may consider it : )
