Hello, wondering about a 1956 J.C. Higgins Jet Flow....My dad received it for Christmas 1956.....All of the pictures I see of them have a headlight that is half painted red and half chrome. Also the chain guard is black with red trim......A 1957 bike came with an all chrome headlight and a red chain guard. He specifically has memory of the all chrome headlight and red chain guard. Is it possible that he received an early 57 for Christmas in 56 or were parts interchanged throughout the year depending on where they were made. Thanks, AL

Didn't the new models get released the previous Fall? If he got it for Christmas in '56, then it's almost certainly a '57 design, right?

I found the serial numbers, if anyone can identify the year and explain how it was figured out, thanks again everyone.
