anyone know spoke length to put a red band into a 24" wheel? anyone done this? how many crosses?

I have a Schwinn 24" typhoon with a red band kickback on an S-7 rim, looks like 9 1/2"for the spokes. Does that sound right?

Looks like 3 cross from the picture, some old Schwinn's are 4 cross. How many spokes on the hub in that picture, 24 or 36? It makes a difference in spoke length.

Yeah, with a 24" you better check the hub and rim for the same number of holes.

This might be useful. Gives standard length spokes for varisous flange sizes for different rim diameters. Sort of a ball park.

Neither....I have 28 spokes on my 24" S-7 with Bendix 2-speed kickback.
