love the build so far :113:

Well bent the forks, like the stance, but????
DSCN2300.JPG

They look good from afar, but far from good.Besides the bad bending, they are not straight. The wheel sits to the right.
DSCN2304.JPG

Tried to straighten the forks, but no luck,so the next best thing was....
I cut the bent ends off and used the original forks that came off the Blue Arrow frame.
DSCN2306.JPG

Almost the same, would like to get more of a curve in but, safer to keep it at this angle.
DSCN2307.JPG

1 cm shorter than the other forks.but at least they are straight.I will extend the rear dropouts by 5 cm.Then its all welding and stripping/spraying.Caught a cold,so feeling cr*p at the moment...:(
Have this rear rack from off a donar, will use it I think?
DSCN2310.JPG
The color I am going with, will add some pearl and flake to it... Have been experimenting with normal kids glitter, and it works the same as expensive auto flake:113:
Sirio Pearl Merida_Burgundy.jpg

The rear fender and anything I do in wood will hopefully look similar to this.

The graphics that I have been working on.

And I am hoping to turn this sheet of old ply into a skimboard.Something like this.

And a skateboard(longboard) to match...

Today I managed to some work, between sneezing, blowing my nose and a lot of Argghhh!
I found a perfect bit of ply wood for the skateboard.
DSCN2314.JPG
Cut out the shape I wanted.
DSCN2315.JPG
Sanded and smoothed it over.Drilled the holes for the trucks.
DSCN2317.JPG
Found this old board at the tip...
DSCN2316.JPG

Mounted the trucks on,just need longer screws.
DSCN2318.JPG
With some tint, varnish and graphics, will be ready to roll.
Board is 1 meter in length and the widest part is 22cm. it feels nice to walk the plank...
DSCN2319.JPG

Found the wood that I will use for the seat.
DSCN2322.JPG

Also manage to cut part of a pole to make the grips. One is bored out and ready to shape.Didn't have time for the second one. Will hit that in the morning,if no rain.
DSCN2323.JPG

And if I make a mistake I have 3 meters to play with...:D

my official thousand apologies to you Funkme.......
No need, not to many girls on here that build.I remember I was shy and sat back for a year watching this page, then thought why not I can build, and it's all about fun...And then entered B0#7. Now I'm glad I did...The guys on here are great, and I feel part of a family. And now more girls have entered.

It's cool that you reuse a lot of materials in your builds  like pulling stuff out of thin air
The truth is I don't have a choice. My island is expensive, and we dont have cruisers etc here...But the young kids here do pimp thr monkey bikes and townmates...

I'm on a roll.:crazy2::grin:
Have enjoyed the last 2 days, with the wood side of this build...
Managed to get the grips done.
At first if you don't succeed ,try again, and again, and again...
DSCN2326.JPG

Carved out the saddle, was going to do a half banana, then said .Not the look I wanted.

DSCN2339.JPG

Pedal time...Had a choice of 2 sets :arghh:
Considering I have many of the small kids sets, decided to go with them.
DSCN2341.JPG

Grinded them flat on both sides where the reflectors are...
DSCN2343.JPG

From that to this.
DSCN2345.JPG

So saddle, pedals, and grips are ready for coloring...Will continue with all the wood stuff.
I also dismantled a rear rim,needed the shorter spokes...Thinking to mount a 3 speed coaster hub.Never done it before,so here goes nothing:D
