Skip-Tooth Montgomery Ward Hawthorne Identification- Please Help!

I picked up this bike as a project bike to put back together. I believe it is an early 40's bike, but don't know enough to be sure. What do you all think?

I don't think it is that early. I think early 40's would have ears on the frame for a drop stand. My 1953 Hawthorne has the same chain ring. I'm guessing late 40's or early 50's.

That 'crest' style badge came out in 1950, so it's no older than that. -Adam

It would look great with a Hawthorn Tank, Roadmaster Tank on it and a Rear Rack.

I have a MW Hawthorn Tank , But it is green color.
