My 1936 Monark Silver King arrived today. I traded my 2nd Place Build Off 8 bike Firewing for it.

I couldn't get it unwrapped fast enough and at least put the fork on it. The guys in the office don't believe that it's 78 year old bike.

Ha. I rolled mine into the local bike shop one day to see if they could make a new cable for the Bendix 2 speed. The guy was like WTH is that thing????

I have always drooled over the pics people have posted of their Silver Kings, but I still wasn't prepared for how cool it was to uncover this one from the pipe insulation that was protecting it. I have it sitting in the hallway partially assembled and have gotten up a few times to just stand there and admire it. It looks like a brand new bike, but WAY cooler!

It's only WAY cooler because it is WAY COOLER !

This bike just gets you on so many levels.

That is one fine ride. Do you have the seat and bars etc? Is it complete?
Let us know how it rides.

It's a complete bike. I just haven't had time to put it back together yet. Here is what it will look like.
