1936 Monark Silver King Fish 254

My 1936 Monark Silver King arrived today. I traded my 2nd Place Build Off 8 bike Firewing for it.

I couldn't get it unwrapped fast enough and at least put the fork on it. The guys in the office don't believe that it's 78 year old bike.

I have always drooled over the pics people have posted of their Silver Kings, but I still wasn't prepared for how cool it was to uncover this one from the pipe insulation that was protecting it. I have it sitting in the hallway partially assembled and have gotten up a few times to just stand there and admire it. It looks like a brand new bike, but WAY cooler!

How rare are these bikes? I had never seen one before joining this site. Now I have seen two in a short time span.

Somewhat rare. But there seems to be a bunch being dug up in the last years time or so.

In the condition as the one above, very rare even with some incorrect parts.
