disheartening

I was out setting up my Christmas decorations yesterday when this kid stops by with the bike his dad had just bought from me over the weekend. Hes says it wouldn't shift so thinking maybe the came loose I take a look at it and the rear derailer is just destroyed. Now I plan on fixing it for him it's dishearting when I gave his dad it for alot less then I would have most people.

Get the kid involved in the repair if it's OK with the Dad. He might be less likely to abuse something that he has had to help fix.
