Working on a head badge for the Green Machine.
Three layers of .020 styrene and some spot putty. Should clean up nicely tomorrow after a night of drying. Will print out the logo and glue in the center after the badge is painted. Probably will paint it the same color as the headers and pipes, but I might not. Maybe paint it a rusty color...

About done making the head badge. I put a couple of pop rivets in it for looks. They're ground off flush in the back. The badge will be attached with Gorilla Tape double face tape.
Had a chance to actually work on the bike after work this afternoon. Figured wiring the tail light would be easier before the rack was bolted on. Good thing I did. It took 4 times to get it to work. I actually had to solder the ground wire to the tab that contacts the bulb. None of the mechanical grounding worked. The light is old so there's probably some corrosion in the mix. I started to mount the headlight then remembered the head badge and stopped. It was starting to get dark anyway.

Got the head badge mounted this evening. Had to wait until after 6pm for ther to be enough shade to work in. Also a little cooler too.
Wired the headlight and finished putting it together. Then mounted the battery case but still need to wire it. By 8pm it's getting dark.
Mounted a couple of old school squeeze bulb horns. I like them both, but mounting both is overkill. Which one do y'all like, the three barrel or the curly-que?

I agree with the Dr, it does take your eye away from your cool patina and all your custom work on the tank, head light, etc up front.
After looking at the bike some more, I have to agree with you and the good doctor. I think the rusty bell will stay though.

102°F in the shade at 6:00 in the evening does not inspire me to work on this project! Consequently, I have not been too active with it lately. LOL
This afternoon it was only 98°F in the shade at 6pm, so out the door I went. Had some window visors I ordered for my car come in today and some auxiliary lights to hook up too. And I managed to cap off the rear of the front reflectors on the Green Machine. I used actual caps too. 1/2" PVC plumbing caps.
Plus I ran our little cordless Ryobi mower under my mother-in-law's access ramp in the front yard. Somehow my wife missed all the grass under the 30ft ramp when she had the Cub out mowing the front yard the other day.
All in all I put in about 2.5 hot and sweaty hours this evening. Now for some refreshment.

Storm coming in this evening, but I managed about an hour to work. A lot cooler this evening thanks to the approaching storm, but the gnats were extra annoying.
Decided it was time to get a chain on the bike. Had one especially saved back for this build with a nice "patina" already on it. I used the "sealed bottom bracket" that was originally on the bike too. LOL
