How does the spring rate of the lamp clamp compare to the real thing?

While not fully complete and mocked up yet, the one from the lamp I can compress with my hand and the one from Breezer requires my entire @ss! to push down!

The final piece is the tie back to the 5/8 seatpost - the Breezer ones are all for much larger diameter midschool (80's/90's) posts. Looking for suggestions still....

I suppose you could shim it. Or find the proper size clamp on Mcmaster carr

I wonder if using a lamp spring on each side would be adequate to return the post to position? It looks like such a perfect, and cheap, contrivance that it is a bummer that is doesn't have the spring pressure of the breezer.

I wish I could offer to make you a clamp...but, we are so backed up on work right now that I can't foresee when I would have an opportunity to knock one out .

Seeing that the post is soooo tight in this frame - this would be more a cosmetic application rather than a functional one. It's a cool look and should fit the build great - As in all RR Builds ""its all in the details""

This looks like my best choice of clamp soooo far, for such a small diameter post.

Here it is! I found a lock ring that had a 5/8" center and just happened to fit the breeze clamp from the outside diameter!

Detour, I found a great deal on a true - Hite-Rite and
thought I would give that a try...

Just need to resolve the 5/8" post issue...

With that dropper, it is fully modern.
