Got a deal on a frame, (girls frames are usually at discount), and a new bike project. It takes 28” wheels, normal cranks, but a 1-3/8” headset (or 35mm), and an odd seat tube feature. Head badge 2-7/8” between holes; I can use CWC badges, (or find something older). It was once a black bike, (they were so creative way back then), painted a sky-ish blue, with either dirt or clear-coat applied at some time?

It may be something about how my brain works, but I decided this should be a black bike project. Found a fork with the right length steering tube, 1"-24 tpi, also black over red primer, (kind-of skinny).

Found some 1.0" seat posts, and a collet(?) that was the wrong size.

I like the second one better.

Started the prep work.

Stripped, sanded, and wire brushed, until I got tired of that.

Rust-Oleum "Rusty-Metal" red primer.

Rust-Oleum black primer over the 400-sanded red; (masking tape on the lower race area).

I understand why some put-off projects until spring time, (a season, I am told). It seems to take a bit longer for the spray paint to cure.
I found out that if I get a quick-release front hub, then I will not have to slot the fork ends - which I forgot to do before the prime and paint. Also, I found some fender-brace adapters, designed for 5mm QR-axles.

Since I wish to fit pieces before the paint gets along too far, I am acquiring other parts and accessories.

I like the reproduction 48 x 3/16 tooth sprocket, which I plan to pair with a 24 tooth Sturmey Archer rear (2.000 ratio). I have not decided on a rear wheel yet, but have seen an Excelsior example on this site with a 3-speed roller, (2-wires).

Since I am going with chrome plate versus silver paint (mostly), I got a ladies stem and figure to use a common Wald handlebar.

I also got a deal (I think) on a refurbished ladies seat.
