just bought a old hercules

im finding it difficult to put a year on this bike.it rides awesome!i need to get some black wool pants and coat for this one.ive tried the pro sites :lol: no answers yet.im stumped.rear axle says a type 7 three speed made in england.frame number i think is Lb or L86571?no it wasnt cheap,but i wanted a bike like this for a long time,and i never see them.the generator on the front wheel says lucifer electrics haha.anyone have any ideas for an age?thanx

that dutch site is great!thanks,i noticed today that the rims are stamped sturmey archer made in england,i have restored quite a few old bikes and have never saw this stamped on the rims?they are 28 inch rims.i cant find any info on the rear drive A type 7 three speed?im thinking someone might know this bike. :shock:

I know that in the 50's, AMF bought Hercules, and sold them thru Montgomery Wards, since CWC wasn't making touring bikes. ~Adam
