I have a new Brooks B72. Brown leather with black rails that I’d like to trade for a brooks B72 with silver rails.
I don’t mind a little patina/wear as long as there are no rips or cracks, especially by the rivets.
Would also consider B66 and B67 models

Black or brown

My new B72 has been riden twice. It has less then 20 miles on it.

It’s this saddle in this picture. I will get better pictures today.

Edit, more pics. Have the box even

I have a B17, a professional, and a B66 on my Rollfast. However, only the professional has chrome rails.

The replacement parts for Brooks aren't that expensive, as I was thinking about changing my B66 over to chrome hardware...but, it doesn't look like they have made the B72 frame in chrome for ~20 years .

Rad, thanks Jason. Any pics of the b66? Are the springs silver?
I have a few b17s, and a professional. I have a b66 I haven’t even mounted yet too.

And yea... I don’t know why they don’t do the b72 with chrome rails any more. I have one, and I just prefer it to the black.
They pop up now and again in decent shape. Might just end up selling this saddle and buying a chrome rail b72.

I know my offerings weren't in the ballpark of what you were asking for...chalk it up to a general ignorance of all things related to Brooks model designations. The 20-30mins that I spent today looking stuff up quadrupled my total Brooks knowledge...which is still nearly non-existent . I looked on the Brooks site again, as I thought that they had a B66 chrome replacement frame for ~$30 (springs are $8/ea)...but, I don't see it now. Do chromed frame B66s exist, or was I looking at the wrong frame before?

Thanks for the pic!
Chrome frames did exist for the b66. Been awhile tho.
From what I’ve come to understand is that most rails have gone to black because it’s easier on maker cost and quality control.
At one point Raleigh owned Brooks, which is why we see so many b72s on old English three speeds.
Aesthetically I just prefer the chrome rails.
I have a B67 (same as the b66, but single rail vs double) where the rail is black, but the springs are chrome.
But on my flyer, the springs are black. And I wish they were chrome.

What ya gonna do

The chrome springs, are available as spare parts BYB236 & BYB227 (for B66 and B66 S - B67 and B67 S in all its versions - Flyer and Flyer S in all its versions - Conquest - Countess). They are listed as $8 ea on the Brooks site...Niagra has them listed for $6.57 ea, but are currently out of stock on the right rear (BYB227).

Diz,
Was saving this for a ratrod and its probably too rough anyway. No tears or cracks but it’s STIFF. Ive been meaning to give it some moisture and see what happens but I havent got to it yet. The frame has some rust but its not as bad as it looks, its just dirty.

You don't have to re-rivet. The nose piece can be carried over without change, so it's just the rear and they can be replaced with nuts and allen bolts. Here's from when I swapped a B67 to B68 frame.

No problem. Oh, definitely use washers, too—since the nuts catch on the concave underside of the mounting bracket, you'll have to turn the bolts to tighten fully and the washers will save some friction on the leather. The one I did is a softer Aged leather painted with leather paint and the washers prevented any damage to the surface (though, the paint is more durable than I thought it would be).

I made this top and attached it with screw together rivets from a luggage and shoe repair shop
Brooks also stretches there tops on with a hydraulic ram to get the tension on the leather .
They also won't sell you a new top which is why I made my own
