these plates use to spread the load are normally brazed but i cant ,
so i drilled 7holes in it , plug weld and clean.

had to be careful to not heat it to much and deform the inner diameter

ill redo the sleeves ,
i have made the groove for the bottom ones a little deeper so they lock in better and be thicker/stronger
and will make the top ones acording to how much i have to tight the top clamp to lock the ring in place.
wich bring me to the actual next step : cutting the sides on the legs:tmi:

it still works :whew:

at the exception of the top sleeves and lock ring , now that its welded i could not slide them on :doh::headbang:
but made a slice in the sleeves , that worked
and cut in half the lock rings , that kind of worked , but the cuts took material out so ill have to make new 'half rings' to the correct size

still lots more to do before i call it done
-welding the center rod back,
-allot of cleaning and some bondo on the pitted areas
-getting correct hardware and better springs

Fork is done!

did some minimal bondo
primed/sand 3 times
and hand sanded ,polished and oiled the 'chrome' parts

forgot to get the hardware when getting the primer , but thats details that can wait .

now i have to save allot of money to get the E-motor parts i want and that might take a while , but iam gonna make components progressively
-seat
-eccentric BB
-drop outs
-head tube
i can basically build a frame but without the lower parts,
without chainstay/seat tube/down tube
cause these will be built to fit the motor perfect

Looking good. and yeah the scratch built section is a bit lonely. will be waiting for the rest.

i finally understood everything i need to make the Electric v-twin powerplant , but the bill would be at a wopping 2000$Ca for only the basic major parts:13:o_O:blackeye:

seems like i just cant afford that , maybe in a near future if i get lucky financially or if the prices go way way donw on Lithium-ion batteries ..

but ill continue the build as planed (sort of) ''pedal powered'' planning rughly the space ill need for the motor .. when the time comes ill chop and replace the downtube
 
Ebikes aren't cheap, but in the long run it's worth it if it's a daily transport.

I've been looking at a mid drive setup, so far it's adding up to about the same price.

were you looking at the 3000w cyclone too?

mine would just be for fun cruising the city , not for daily utility bike
makes me sick when i compare to gas engines , i could basically have the same power for 300$ (if it was legal here) .. 3000w is not legal ether but its tolerated since its electric
 
Yup, that's how it is.
49cc motor assist was legal here til about a year ago,then Ohio caught on to the China engine.
3000w isn't legal here, but man the YouTube videos make it look so dang fun.
 
What are your plans for the BB and crank? I'm assuming through the jackshaft somehow. :39:
the latest plan was to use regular oldschool crank and coaster brake

and on the left drive the engine directly to the wheel , and use a floating sproket centered as best as possible over the bb ,to simulate the jackshaft setup of the original and act as tentioner

if i dont do this ,the only option i see is a eccentric bb with freespinning sprokets on the left to tension the drive chain ,
and same sproket/cog setup on both side to the rear wheel to have equal chain tention
example:
pedal side 44t sproket / 20t rear cog
motor side 20t drive sproket / 44t rear gear

sadly cant run coaster brake with a freewheel crank like typical mid-drive e-bikes
