The heat wave finally got up north, it's 57F and partly sunny. My wife and I went for a hike on the North Country Trail today. I finished my 100 miles on it so now I can get the 100 mile National Park Centennial North Country Trail Hiking Patch. She already got hers in June. You have to hike 100 miles on it in 2016 to get one.
At the start of the hike along the road at the Trail access.

Winter Green berries provided a fresh taste and natural aspirin to combat the aching body. They were everywhere and I ate handfuls of them many times.

Here I am at the end; 100.2 miles total since June. I don't like to hike anymore as it gets me worn out and sore. Biking is another story, I like that. I am wearing grease covered pants from working on bicycles.

It snowed a little for two nights but it didn't stick. It was 72F on Sunday. Snow predicted tonight but it is not going to stick, then it will get warmer. Even with the snow it is still way above average. On Sunday I saw a guy swimming in Lake Superior with his Lab even though the surface temperate was a hair below 50F. I rode my 1977 Peugeot in shorts and a T shirt on November 7th and was hot.

Such nice weather!
Wife and I rode the Rawley Point trail North from Two Rivers, WI Saturday. and on Sunday got in a 3 hr ride on my Tennessee walking horse. The Rawley Point trail is awesome with a nice pea gravel base and rolling hills, cool little wood bridges over creeks, ect.
We rode our Murray built coaster brake bikes.

Fun while it lasts, cold is on the way.

It's still warm, tomorrows prediction is for 57F and sunny. What the Hay! The sun NEVER shines in November. November is usually Scandinavian suicide weather, dark, cloudy, grey landscape with no leaves, windy, rain and snow mixed. I haven't even gotten the snowblower out of mothballs yet. I haven't put my studded tires on my winter bike. I just put away, for the season, my last road bike. I am still riding a pizza cutter mountain bike and my BOTEN 1930s Rollfast. This is scary, I'm longing for a return to terrible weather. Deer hunting season starts November 15th and it is not unusual to be snow out of camp or snowed in once you get there. I could be hunting in shorts and sneakers. The seasonal affective disorder lamp store just went bankrupt and closed.
