I’m calling it finished!

Finished up the rear half.

Figured I’d give the brake arm some love too.

Weekend update. Buttoning it up tomorrow morning. Fork darts painted. a quick seat recover Got the crank greased and installed. The headlight is mounted. It’s turning out better than I had hoped.

They turned out alright. Waiting on stencils for the fork darts.

I’m doing the whole build in the thread. I noticed some people are putting parts of the build in the comments. So by “updated”, I’ve added more to the build

Red with white stripes preferred. Black, white or chrome will work.

Chainguard says tornado also.

The frame is stamped F122911. It’s summer 61. But I figured I’d wait to pull the crank to make sure.

This thing literally just fell into my lap. The bones of the operation. 1961 Schwinn Tornado. Disassembled, cleaned, and polished the frame. Gotta love that Schwinn chrome. The head cups shine like the top of the Chrysler building. Swiped a head badge out of the parts bin. Starting mock up...
