Wow Rob that looks really great with the metal flake paint. Lots of great work being done there. I can't wait to see the bronze rail when it's finished. They are going to be kool looking bikes when they are finished.
Painter called today. 2nd frame is finished & I picked up all the chrome yesterday. New pictures coming!
BUILD #2
Okay - So paint is Finished on the Frame and I love the color. The original Top Fueler front fork and original Bronco Wheelie bar is back from the plater. I had these plated in Nickle since this was the original finish.
I have some other surprises along the way but all chrome/nickle is finished and all paint is complete.
Here is a reminder of what I started with and after the new paint for build #2

I went ahead and did a reverse of the common fade paint jobs. I like the Bronze better as the primary color. This is also a NOS original Person's seat (Thanks to Scott Loper & Rob Eagleye).
With Top Fueler fork set in place (Thank you to Jaxon for the top plate).
And here is another picture with the seat/fork/frame... More to come in the next 2-3 days

These wheels are awesome. I had a real drag mag but only works or a Schwinn rim & coaster. I think I'm the first one to go with a chrome center on one of these. Jaxon really did a nice job on these.

Since I cannot find an extra Flaming stack I went ahead and had the guard painted the same color as the frame, Than had this decals made to make it look like a flaming stack. I'm happy with it,.

I went ahead and broke out the NOS tires I have had stashed for this build and I also got my chain guard insert installed as well as fork actually bolted on with headset.

Actually they changed the frames in 1970 to use an under mount brake. All the bikes prior used a top mount brake. On the bike with the wheel, it is simply a parking brake anyway as levers will not be used since it is a steering wheel. This bike uses a coaster brake, however I do have a 71 twin stick slingshot that does have hand brakes and it uses the undermount brake. I never rode it but assume it held up.

I got the frame dart installed, frame decal, seat clamp and post. NOS rear tire mounted and ready to go. Now to lace the front wheel and get that tire mounted.

The Billet Aluminum frame darts are a cool detail!
Thanks guys. Your helping me push forward. Now if this snow would melt I could get some good outside pictures. Still waiting on a couple small items for both bikes.

Front wheel is laced, tire is on, seat is on, sissy bar on, handlebars & stem. Waiting on head tube decals, mag sprocket & grips, which should arrive today. I might be able to get her all together by Thursday.
Irony; The "off brand muscle bike site" owner wouldn't help a fellow (now former) member out. RatRods is A COMMUNITY site. I have had GREAT help & support over here. There are members of both sites that have helped but LOTS more help here, so thank you. He burned another bridge... Members here know him all too well.
This has been a 3 year project that has been a vision for 5 years. I cannot wait for the few final pieces & to get some pictures shot outside.
Here is the last one I was just starting to build but I had to sell due to my business failing when the economy crashed. This was a lot of work to find all the parts again, hence the name "Big Budget" of both money and time. This time I am doing it RIGHT for me to keep! The build off is just lighting a fire under me to get it finished.
