I'm in the planning phase for a cruiser. I want to see if my idea looks how I imagine it before I lay out cash. Has anybody built a bike designed for 26" wheels, but used 24x3 instead? Show me em, whatever angles you can, I wanna see overall looks and fork/stay clearance if you got em. Bonus points if it's a retro MTB.
Thanks in advance.

My BO bike has one on the rear only.
My Seminole also. Think I posted picture of Seminole in my BO journal.

Exactly what I wanted to see.

PS I love that Husky frame!

These are red 24" x 57mm rims, from 3G. Tires are 24 x 3 Nirve.

I've put 26 x 3 on regular rims no problem on the dynos I did that with. On regular rims, 24 x 1.75 I think with the same 24 x 3 tires:

Like, like, like! That's the good stuff! @Wildcat i love everything about the Emory, especially the suspension stem.
@idiotboy that Columbia is gorgeous, do you have any pictures of the area you had to notch? I'm not averse to cutting if I must.
@macncheese WHAT IS THAT?!!!

Keep em coming!

Since this is all still nebulous dreaming, I'll inform you all that ideally, I'd have three stays to clear. My idea is to make a cruiser outta a retro faux mixte MTB.

That one is the unicorn, Tange cromo, brakes mounted on the extra stay.
Dang it, just realized that brake would never work with a 24" rim. See why I started this thread? Bekuz my brain. Yaaayyyy sturmey hubs front and back?

Right, I recall a Schwimitt build now. I'm willing to completely change directions in my build plans should I find a straight bar industrial cruiser. I'm as fickle as the wind.

Summit Workhorse. It's kinda the factory version of the Schwinn Heavy Duti. Doesn't have the Schwinn style kickstand or the 1 1/8" headtube so its a bit more classic looking.

I need one of those!

Also interested in seeing 24x3 rubber on 24x2 rims. Is it even possible, let alone sane?
Matti, my Felt has 47mm rims with Thick bricks (I have seen Felts with even narrower rims and 3" tires)

I also think you are gonna love riding Berm Masters.

Will those drops work with an IGH? You might have to fab some up so you have adjustment for your chain. Then you could fit 26" wheels! The height of a 3" tire will be 28" vice the usual 26". A 24 x 3 will be 26" tall. The Dynos I had could fit them easily but your GT might not. Here's what beach bums look like 26 x 3 tires with 1.50 rims:
