iam super proud of this fork . to me its always the most fun part of a build is doing a custom fork

its got chains !

i drilled the frame , welded in a small tube for the pivot bolt of the tentionner
ajusted again the offset a little bit.

and drilled and tap a hole for the ajuster right under it
20190520_173459.jpg

the ajuster is made of a 1/4'' 20 bolt welded on a ring , and has capped nuts that i drilled through to make some kind of swivel joint

10 days left before its due to be rode around town :whew:

Do you think you'll need dropout adjusters for the hub(for good measure)
What have you been using for a seat to set the crank in place?

Waiting for the left side profile shot. I like the chain directions.
10 days...No problem:grin:
i have no seat yet , ill have to make one , probably banana seat style . crank was just set at a resonable hight as much forward as i could , ill figgure how high i need to make the seat and bars to be confortable riding it

Fork is super cool. Kind of a Triple Tree/Monarch/Girvin vibe to it. TripMonIrvin..:D...keep up the good work. This is fascinating to watch...
thanks

-Seat post/seat and bars done today ,
well almost..
seat need pading and i ran out of wleding wire after tacking the bars

here is where i got the big orange springs , form a powerwheel my neigbor trew to garbage , thats the front steering mech ,basically mtb pivots :13:
and that seat is from a excerciser bike also from a neigbor garbage lol
20190521_101456.jpg

so i though of this ..
20190521_103213.jpg

then remembered i had a suspension seat post . and turns out this could actually work :43:

i cut the standard seat clamp out and guess what , the top spring hat just pressed in no problem!
(under that boot is a square rod , the top hat is pressed against it and stop there)

the spring is big enough to clear the slider clamp (part with the yellow sticker)
20190521_110016.jpg

but the botton spring plate needed a little help to go over the tube..
wood lath commes in handy as always
20190521_111321.jpg

Bam!
20190521_111936.jpg

i then welded a washer on top to secure the spring plate
20190521_113014.jpg

found a tube the right size to slide over it on the bottom and drilled/welded a nut to have a set-screw holding it in place .
now spring is secured
20190521_125303.jpg

then cut that part out of a 2x4 steel chanel to clamp the seat on
20190521_142402.jpg

some little added supports added , and then welded to the post.
i also made a shim for the post to be tight in the frame and found a 1.5'' industrial clamp i had in my parts

Bam ! works so well iam amazed:13::43:
20190521_151055.jpg
20190521_151115.jpg

i then proceeded to make the bars , had to remove the center section for it to clam good in the fork ..these are generic moon bars
20190521_161754.jpg

i then cut the handles off and welded these excersiser bars on to it ..Hollly!thats wide! 38.5'' to be exact :giggle:
20190521_165618.jpg
20190521_165712.jpg

i might try to pie cut them to make them a bit narrower , that pretty much the only steel bars parts i had so i made the most of it:113:

Looking awesome from junk to something cool :cool2:
thats the spirit!
I just died......
dont please :oops::p

Those bars are awesome just as they are!
Great work 1HP! You are flying on this build!
:rockout:
thanks guys!

ye like last year 3day build , i had to build this quick since the buildoff only starts 1month before the annual custom bike ride with friends ,
so ye its a bit more challenge , but at the same time i dont work many hours at the job lately and dont want to spend to much time or budget on bikes anymore , i got my first car and i want to do things to it , car stuff is expensive especially the mechanical stuff witch iam not equip to deal with ..

First to finish! 1HP your builds are always fascinating, and never the same style. This looks like a fun bike! I guess all bets are off, right @GuitarlCarl ? :wink1: (predicted an OddJob first to finish)
