From the design, I infer that the Whizzer brake linkage was designed to keep the hub's arm from possibly bending the chainstay under repeated, panic braking. I can see the same reasoning behind using it in a hilly area, like the one in which I live.
That makes sense! Thanks for explaining that, been wondering for a while!
 
I swapped out for a temporary wheelset, thanks to an Ichibike rear skiptooth cog. Rear is a Felt 24" rim with a matchingvJerald Sulky slick, while the front is a skinny 26" with a 1.6 width Continental tire.

I'm also playing with the bars meant for my Beachcomber entry. I used one of @rev106 's stems to secure it.

Those bars would look awesome on a chopper.
I like these wheels on there, but I prefer the painted drop-centers. As soon as I get that old Morrow brake working better, I'll re-install them. The Patina Kustoms bars are already back on it - the Chopshop bars are awesome but are for the other bike.
