    TRADITIONAL Doom Slug

This JC Higgins hub and old blue rim measure out the same as the S2 stuff so I can use those old spokes to lace up a skip tooth wheel for a future project. The rim is a bit wavy so I’ll try to straighten it a little first.

Decided to go with the white S2s. Disassemble. Measure Ready for reassembly after I order new spokes.

Those apes look good with the forks. I like the shorter double bar but the highway pegs design is cool.

I'm measuring my hub and rim now. The spoke holes in the hub are a little elongated. They measure 2.9mm in line with the flange and 3.3-3.5mm in line with the spokes. Should I just call it 3mm? Does it make a big difference?

UNLIMITED Stacey’s Mom aka the Tall-Goose

I didn't really keep track but I think the frame mods took me around 5 hours, forks around 3. I think a pro fabricator could do it in half the time or less with far superior results. But this is just for fun.

So far I have $0 into this build. With the struts and ball studs I'll have about $50 in it. I think one of these could be built for under $300 pretty easily even if you had to buy a cheap welder, hood, grinder and supplies.

Just ordered these. They are similar to the ones in the instructables. Hopefully they will do the trick.

    TRADITIONAL DILEMMA

Ouch! I'm not sure the original fork would have held up to a disc brake. This looks a much better option and can be painted for a better match.

Thanks OJ. I've seen that one before and have thought about building something for this, which is what I will likely do down the road. Paul Brodie has a great video building a fixture:

Thanks Ulu! I didn't realize it needed to be over-centered like that. I'll be guessing a little on which struts to get, just using the Instructables page for reference. I do want to come up with a latch to keep the bike in the down position for easier mounts and dismounts.

Great bike, this will be a fun build! A tip on posting pics, when you attach your image you can click on 'Insert' and then select 'full image'. This will let you post larger pics for easier viewing.

Those tires look awesome on there! I like OJ's ideas on cantilever brakes. That would be cool if you could swing it. Do they sell these templates? I'd like to look into that.

Yep, Oscar would ride this bike. It's coming along great. I love all the different bits you're incorporating!

Agreed, the Aerobee is waiting for a muscle build.

That's true! Tall mode does look weird. But I like it. 🤪
