Brought a couple old boys home

Looking at the seat clamp on the cwc, my guess is it is post war but the straight chain stays and down tube scream prewar. Many post war cwc frames had rear facing dropouts even as late as the mid 50’s. Both are cool but the cwc is not one I have seen before and cooler with the straight down tube.

    Borders & bicycles

I used to travel to the USA every year for work and on every return trip I brought back parts for my race car or the 2 mustangs I restored. You could import up to $1000 of goods before you were slugged gst and duty. As such I always declared something made of wood and more often than not asked...

    Borders & bicycles

Would you believe the guy who sold me this frame got it out of Canada? Why can’t you get them across the border? I thought only Australia had draconian customs regulations.

    Stealthmaster

Update. 3” extended longhorn bars fitted this week. I first tried them 4” longer and decided they were too long so I shortened them by 1”.

Freeliner, my ‘36 Schwinn/BFG got a skip tooth drivetrain, 3 piece cranks and a SA kickback hub today. It is a little noiser with its converted rear sprocket but it still rides nice with plenty of speed. ‘36 BFG Streamliner.

    TRADITIONAL ⚡️⚡️⚡️THUNDERBOLT⚡️⚡️⚡️TIRES SELECTED⚡️⚡️⚡️TANK WORK⚡️⚡️⚡️SKIRTS & CHAIN GUARD

I'm not a fan of soft springers. An alternative to fitting the solid rods is to shim the springs and do the nut up further which passes through the springs. I did this on a Schwinn springer and it stiffened the fork considerably.

    TRADITIONAL 🅵🅾🅾🅻🅸🅶🅰🅽 - 1930s Elgin Oriole

Looking good KF. Great frame. Those Murray built frames are really solid, way heavier than say a typical Schwinn frame. I think it would takes some heat to dimple the chain stays

Marketplace buy cruiser 1 for around $100. 2 days later and a heap of parts from my arsenal. Awesome rider and fast with a 2 speed Sturmey Archer kickback hub.

What have you been riding lately?

I picked up this Electra cruiser 1 last night on marketplace for the cost of a couple of slabs of beer. A lady won it in a raffle and her husband wasn’t interested. I got it home, pumped up the tires and went for a spin around the block. I was surprised how easy it was to ride and even more...
