    TRADITIONAL Stir crazy

I like the look of that. Still haven't decided on rack or not. I will try to mock one up first of the week to see if I can make it work.

I'm thinking i will go with the single brace. I have a plan for a rack if i can make everything fit. I also am planning on using a monark super deluxe chainguard when it arrives next week. I like the flow of those. Until then back to the front fender and seat mounting.

Had the wrong bike. It's off a Gene Autry bicycle. I got my cowboys mixed up.

    TRADITIONAL Stir crazy

I finished up the rear fender today. It finished up it's time in the oa bath and got a coat of dead flat clear. I got the newly relocated brace drilled and attached. The inside of the fender had the same blue paint i stripped off the outside. Didn't want to break out the stripper again so i...

I picked these pieces of trim up at the most recent memory lane swap. The dealer told me they were off a boys 20 inch hopalong. I bought them for something else on a future project. He also told me good luck finding a set of the jewels that fit in the holes.

Good find on those fenders. I've had great results with the oa bath. Except that one time i left a tank in for about 8 hours to long. Didn't work out so well. Looking forward to how you remove that reflective tape.

I really like the bare metal look with some clear over. I think this looks good as is. Flat clear always looks better to me.

    TRADITIONAL Stir crazy

Slow rolling right now but i did manage to get a seat done this weekend. The leather is in perfect shape. The seat frame and springs were covered in flaking shiny black paint. I disassembled every thing and stripped off all the paint. After all night in a mild oxalic bath i sprayed it all down...

I have soaked other bare metal parts in the oa bath before and they usually just get a little grey tint. I was really surprised how these came out. Darker than expected, and I'm happy with it. Oxalic acid bath, not just for rust anymore.

    TRADITIONAL Stir crazy

I got a little progress made yesterday. I put the frame, tank, and fork assembly in the oxalic acid bath for about 8 hours. Brushing and flipping about every hour or so. I found in the past it will turn the metal darker and take out any shine. A good rinse and dry followed by a coat of dead flat...

Thank you sir. I looked at the frame with fender on for about one beer before i broke out the drill. I need to age some fender rivit bolts, mount it and move on to the front.

I drilled the fender braces out of rear fender and repositioned the curved brace. Now it flows with the frame. I may trim a little off the fender end later after i mount it up with the tire on.

TRADITIONAL SHAOLIN SPITFIRE (Wu Tang Forever)

Dang it Bobby you beat me to the punch. I picked a full can of bronze powder last summer at a farm sale. I had the same idea of dusting it on a clear finish. You've inspired me to pull it out and use on another project i'm working on. I really like where you are taking this build.
