I made a small test to see if the Bondo had any effect on the piping such as shrinkage or melting. Looks to have held up well. I’m winging it really. I may not even like the piping idea but I’m going to give it a shot.

Me too. I plan to trim out the tank like when chopper guys reverse the pan of a tank to be dished. Or some car customizers use rod to create lines. They usually weld a metal rod around to help create a lip.

I got the first layer of Bondo sanded down and ready for a second coat. The second coat will bring up some low areas and even out some other areas. Then I have some piping for sewing seats, that I am going to use to give a raised trim around the tank. I will test it first to make sure it will...

Loving this Back40 Brew delivery ride. I like the length of the chain guard, though I think it could benefit from shaping the back a bit. I like the billboard idea for the chain guard also. Nice restoration on those bottles. I collect some old glass and appreciate the work you put in on those. ✌🏻

Paint or leave the patina RRBBO 19

To paint or not to paint. That is the question. Though I do enjoy the patina and layers of paint on this build off bike, I have the itch to paint it. What would you do if it was yours?

Time to sculpt the tank a bit. I think I will keep is simple by knocking down some edges and giving it a taper to the back.

I had just enough of my foam material to build some size to the tank, which will allow for some design work. The open cell foam binds well with spray glue and the body filler I use. Just carve away what I don’t want. I may leave a pocket for a thunderbolt design. I have no plan when I make a...

Nice work! really like your truing stand. I learned to lace a wheel a few build off’s back and it was very satisfying to learn. I’ve only successfully trued one of my wheel builds, and I found that can be tough. I chose to lace the wheels and have a LBS true them for me. 💪🏻

Thank you much! Good to be this far this early👍🏼 Thank you! And I agree! The skirts and chain guard were a nice last minute find. I’ve always wanted a set and they just happen to fit well. ✌🏻
